What we do ?

The reelport GmbH operates two projects: reelport and PicturePipe.

reelport.com is an online film submission platform from film festivals for filmmakers. The idea was born 10 years ago by the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen. What was the idea: registering, uploading and submitting films to various partner festivals and competitions. For festivals, reelport.com is the place where they can easily receive, manage and view film submissions from all over the world either by streaming or by downloading the film files and the film data for their preselection. Since the founding of reelport, over 150 festivals have joined the platform as partners, some of those festivals include Tampere Film Festival, Encounters Festival, Cork Film Festival, Flickerfest, Brussels Short Film Festival etc. The number of active users has been climbing and currently stands at over 60.000. reelport.com is a part of the European network „Fair submissions“.

PicturePipe is a full range of VoD services for the film and TV industry. PicturePipe can upgrade any existing website to implement video-on-demand services, from uploading to streaming, including user registration, submission forms, quality control, viewing statistics, permission management, payment systems, advanced security features, etc.

Research & Developement

We always strive to be the leader in our field of technology. A R&D project that we have initiated with the University of Berlin (TU) has been recently awarded with a significant research budget by the European Union. This funding and the cooperation with research institutions in all over Europe will enable us to create the latest and most up to date video technology for our platform – and for the platforms of our clients.
